Taxi
Taxi is Asa's favorite word. He started pointing out taxis from his stroller a few months ago and once mommy put a name on them, his saying taxi [ta-tee] soon followed. Now all stroller and car rides are filled with Asa's delighted taxi observations. He will stand at the kitchen window saying taxi until he is scooped up to see one driving by. When he wakes up in the morning and post-nap he will point to his window and say taxi. There are taxi illustrations in a few of his books (lovely example, above, from Good Night New York City), and he will open to those pages and read: "taxi, taxi, taxi!"
